A Suffolk lorry driver who left a woman with serious injuries following a crash has had his prison sentence reduced.

CANNABIS resin worth an estimated £3 million was seized at Ramsgate port yesterday (Thursday). Officers stopped an Irish-registered lorry carrying approximately one tonne of the class B drug.

Two men arrested after drugs were found during safety checks on 45 lorries at the Port of Felixstowe in Suffolk have been released on bail.

Essential maintenance work is starting on a bridge on the A12 linking two sides of a port town in Suffolk.

A footbridge weighing about 10.5 tonnes has been stolen from the back of a trailer in North Yorkshire.

A52 resurfacing starts at Elton-on-the-Hill

A £1.1m scheme to resurface a one-and-a-half mile stretch of the A52 has begun.

The work by the Highways Agency is being carried out at Elton-on-the-Hill on the Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire border.

Thieves have made off with 337 pairs of military boots destined for British soldiers fighting in Afghanistan.

The delivery - valued at £31,000 - was stolen from a lorry parked in Banbury, Oxfordshire.

Thieves slashed the side curtain of the lorry overnight between 6 and 7 February. The lorry was transporting a consignment of Nato desert boots.
