Everybody Wants Me

This is the only title I could see fitting this piece without losing full diplomacy. I can feel the noose tightening around my neck with every keystroke, but I'm fed up!

There's an attitude in this industry that is quite pathetically growing. I have tried to stay out of the controversy, but a news article posted on my facebook wall today had me snap. We will update this blog with more and more reporters to write.

This attitude is that all men who drive are rapists. You see it everywhere: the news, "advocates," etc try to make it look like every woman is a rape victim waiting to happen. I will NEVER deny that there are some rapists out there, but the number is MUCH smaller than what people want to make you think it is.

I was raped. I was raped at home as a child and teenager. I was raped by an ex-boyfriend also. I know rape. I'm a survivor. Rape victims act differently than a lot of women. They hold themselves different, they get tough, and they get weary. But, the ones that don't have previous psychological problems are not constantly thinking every man wants to rape them. This epidemic that's being seen in this industry shows that either these ladies (a) know nothing about rape or (b) have been raped and need some serious psychological help.

A good amount of drivers out here are dedicated family men. What is a dedicated family man? A man that loves his family and wife, would never do anything to hurt them, and are just trying to do the best by them while they are out here. Some are single and horny, but when given the decision to rape someone and possibly spend 25 years to life for sex, or to pay a lot lizard $25 and just "double wrap," they'll opt to double wrap. Few out here will rape without issue or 2nd thought. The problem that exists with these few?

The problem is the women that have been raped. No, it's not your fault you've been raped. But, no one reports it. You allow this same bad apple to rape and rape and rape. Why? I really want an answer to this question (if you comment as to why, I want to know from a rape victim, NOT a know-it-all). I fell asleep at the wheel from shame when I should've reported what happened to me. I recently had a woman say her trainer tried to rape her in a truck stop. Another man pulled him off of her and no one called the cops. She immediately went to the other man's truck right afterward. Look at the holes in this story.

Basically, to be point blank.........ladies, not every guy wants your body. If you're a great-grandmother, you're not walking through the parking lot having everyone blow you kisses (yes, this was claimed). Same woman claimed she walked through the truck stops with a tire iron. GET REAL! Quit thinking all these men want you. Life would be much easier.

If you are constantly getting unwanted attention, you may want to look at you. I get all kinds of stares if it's hot and I'm helping Lou. Those days, I'm in short shorts and a low cut, tight, spaghetti strap tank top. If you're dressed like that, you're begging for attention. I read a lady said she couldn't wear a dress. I do any time I want and am never treated differently. If you are flirting, completely showing every bit of any body you may have, or carrying yourself like you're a sex pot, you will draw all the wrong attention. If you're dressing respectably, talking to a driver professionally, and carrying yourself like a self-respecting confident woman, the men will treat you as such. I feel sorry for some of these poor guys. Some times they'll walk up to me and just start rambling. Why? Because they want a woman to talk to. I hear all the personal information, including exes. They just need an ear. Unlike a video I recently watched, it does not mean they are a predator.

Women, by no means do you need to completely put your guard down. There are bad people.......men and women.......out here. All I'm saying is to quit acting like any man walking up to you wants to rape you. When you display this image, you also do damage to the industry you claim you love. These overinflated claims make the public hate this industry more. This should be common sense! Want help protecting yourself? I know all kinds of good products and a book that would lead you down the RIGHT road. Just shoot me an email. Watch yourself, but don't get paranoid.

While doing this "in-depth" report, she also did a lot of stereotypes! Stand up for yourself and your industry!
