Man killed in five-vehicle crash on A46 near Newark

A motorist has died after a five-vehicle crash on the A46 in Nottinghamshire.

The 30-year-old man was driving a car which was in collision with a lorry at the Farndon junction, near Newark, at 05:00 GMT.

The lorry driver was taken to hospital and was being treated for minor injuries, Nottinghamshire Police said.

Two other lorries and another car were also involved in the crash but no-one else was injured.

The road will remain closed between Newark and Farndon until the evening and diversions are in place, police said
