At least 32 people have been killed when a truck travelling in the wrong direction on an expressway collided head-on with a bus on an expressway in north-eastern China.
Reports from China's state-run Xinhua news agency say the accident occurred on a section of an expressway that was undergoing maintenance, in the city of Fuxin in Liaoning province.
Three people in the truck and 28 bus passengers died on the spot, with another person dying later in hospital, it said, quoting a provincial police spokesman.
Another 21 people were injured and being treated in hospital after the accident.
It said the truck's driver had pulled out of a service area on the side of the expressway and went in the wrong direction.
China's roads are among the most dangerous in the world, with proper driving rules and traffic laws widely flouted.
Nearly 73,500 people died in road accidents in 2008, or just over 200 fatalities per day, according to police statistics.
