Arrest after lorry crash between Welshpool and Newtown

The crash happened north of Newtown

A man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after two lorries collided in Powys between Welshpool and Newtown.

Dyfed-Powys Police said one man was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The crash happened at 0622 BST on Thursday and blocked the A483 road near the village of Berriew for more than six hours.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service sent two crews to the scene, from Montgomery and Welshpool.

A load from one of the lorries had spilled onto the carriageway.
