Cops closed off a lane of the Arlbergstraße tunnel linking Vorarlberg and Tyrol last night (Tues/Weds) after a drivers warned of a drunk trucker on the road.
Police said other drivers had warned them at 11pm that a truck was weaving through the tunnel in the direction of Vorarlberg. They immediately closed the eastward-bound lane of the two lane tunnel to protect drivers.
They stopped the truck after it had cleared the tunnel and tests showed the driver was more than two times over the drink drive limit.
The tunnel, 13.9 kilometres long, is the longest in Austria.
