I am sure that many of you see the Truckstop News regularly. Look at the back cover of the most recent issue.

Note the ad?

recognise the name?

Right. I had this ad brought to my attention recently so had a little look at it courtesy of the internet.

What a crock of bollox.

Now, there are some developments from recent days that should be made public.

In mid 07, a driver who arrived a month after me quit BFS to go working for Bison. He filled the application in online after a particularly bad few weeks where he was at the end of his tether.

Bison approached BFS for a reference. That is understandable enough. BFS initially refused to provide one because they didn't have a form physically signed by the driver so Bison faxed one to BFS and they actually gave a lousy reference. They said that he was reckless and had been formally warned.
When they were asked to provide a copy of the warnings, BFS ignored them. They ignored it because it was not true and the DRD people at BFS wanted to hurt the driver.

When the driver asked for a receipt for the training costs that BFS deducted from his pay, he was refused it. Yet Dave was given one when he left, although that was because he wouldn't leave without it.

Now, this last week, it has been brought to my attention that, should the Taxman decide to do an audit on my tax return, I will probably get a huge demand from them, even though I am entitled to the refund.

Why? I hear you ask....

Because BFS have ticked "No" instead of "Yes" on one question. The form is a computer generated form so it would take nothing to change it, but they are refusing point blank to do it.

There are about 20 of us who are ready to go to court about this, and the Manitoba Labour Board are being approached as we speak.

A very important "bottom line" for anyone thinking of working there. The company were very very good. They have a handful of people there who can't lie in bed straight, but you can work there, gain excellent experience and get your training paid. They are worth a look. But do NOT let them have anything to do with you Immigration paperwork. Many of us will help you without prying and you do NOT need them to do it for you. The less they are involved, the better you will be.

Now, if Eric or his recruiter friend wish to answer any of this, then feel free. We can do it on here and this thread will not be held in check unless it gets silly.

But if you come knocking at my door then it will get very out of hand and very swiftly. This time, I won't hold counsel and you will know just how angry I am.

Just one thing Bob.

Is it worth us holding our breath ?

I suspect not.

I doubt it, somehow, Tim.

But...
BFS finally admitted today that they aren't supposed to fill the T2200e forms out for drivers, and that by doing so, they cause trouble.
What they are supposed to do is write a letter to the Revenue bods telling them what expenses they do reimburse so that the driver can claim for the other expenses.

Result there then!!

Further to...:

BFS are now refusing to provide the letter.

Their reason...?

They say that they never told us we needed to buy maps, bedding, safety shoes etc, so we are not able to claim it back.

This is going to go a lot further now.

However, 6 people, including Eric, were 'let go' today.

They were given 15 minutes to empty their desks and then were escorted from the premises.

I will post more as I learn or verify it.
