It is not just the UK and Ireland it is all through Europe as prices on everything have risen much faster than wages.
Electric and gas has increased in Germany by more than 30% in less than 2 years as previously government owned utility companies abuse their monopoly positions.
Fuel prices seem to constantly increase as speculators inflate the price per barrel, this increase should have been easily off set by the value of the euro against the dollar, but as ausual this does not get passed on to the consumer.
Basically the sooner there is a violent uprising in Europe to get those socialist tree hugging morons out of power the better, mabe then we can return to economic common sense.

FAR TOO BLOODY MANY and unfortunately it will probably a fair few years before we get the chance to enjoy as we have now been invaded and taken over by the massed hordes from behind the former Iron Curtain, in fact the sooner we get around to rebuilding that bloody wall the sooner life will return to normal

It's everywhere.
Violent revolution? Count me in.
I am sure that the powers that be are saying it is the high value of the pound that is making things hard.
Don't believe it for a second. If you look at the exchange rates for the past 3 years between the pound, US dollar, Canadian dollar, yen, Aussie dollar and the euro, you will see that the rates have been within 15 or 20% for every currency except the USD. The only currency that has fluctuated wildly is the AMERICAN DOLLAR!!
It isn't the high value of the others, it is the low value of the USD. That has made the worlds commodities more expensive because the yanks have devalued their currency to pay for their forays into other places.
With the USD at such a low rate, people can buy from the USA but they cannot sell there. The USD is keeping money in the USA instead of keeping money flowing globally.
If the world was to start selling oil, aircraft and the such in Euros, the Americans would have to stop poncing around and things would improve. As it stands, Airbus can't sell their aircraft anywhere because they would be losing money to do so, and the USA decided to replace their refuelling tanker planes with converted A380s from Airbus instead of buying from Boeing. Now the planes can't be delivered because of the poor exchange.
If I, as a dumb truck driver, can see this, why hasn't the rest of the world flipped the bird to Geo Bush and gone on their own way?
