Hello guys,

First, thankyou to James for giving me permission to post here.

My name is Rachael, and I am working with History (formerly known as The History Channel) who are currently
broadcasting the newest series of Ice Road Truckers.

Is anyone here a fan? Obviously the experience of trucking in Canada & Alaska is different from trucking in the UK, but do any of you recognise any of your life in the programme? It would be really interesting to get your thoughts.

the first series was good but since then either it has got boring or the novelty has worn off.
The only thing that I found that had anything to do with my life on the road was that you had to find yourself and find someway of getting there back using your initiative rather than relying on someone on the end of a telephone to sort it for you.

Speaking as a US driver ..... Ice road truckers is the biggest pile of doggy doo doo I ever saw.

Those guys could never make a real living doing that, they are obviously heavily subsidised by the TV company.

To add to that I got two facebook friends requests from the two main drivers,which I accepted and we did pass several messages untill they asked me if I wanted to join their fan club ? ..... No ! why would I do such a thing ? drivers are drivers but to be so arrogant that they have a fan club ?

Not much I can say, really. But I made decent money on the ice, Pat, even for the goons I was driving for. No subsidies here.

As for the programmes, for some reason they were way behind he rest of the world here in Canada. Everyone else had seen them but not here in Canada...

As a Canada (ex-pat) driver, I know what is real and what is not. That Drew would have been fired if he were on my team, and the running repairs would have been handled without the drama.

Curiosity makes me ask- why do you want to know if we are fans though?

She must work for the TV company ..... or she is one of the drivers wives LOL

I cant think of any US reality Tv show that is in any way reality ?

The 3rd episode is on tonight, which features Alex and Hugh on the road with Carlile safety instructors and Lisa battling with her first load of oversized tyres.

Any one planning on watching it?
