The Roads are all open now and we are busy busy busy. I have done 4 runs up now, 1 in Manitoba and 3 into Ontario. Hopefully, they are going to let me take Junior on the next trip as it is a short run to Poplar Hill.

On that map you can see Pikangikum. That is the shortest run we do, with mostly "all season" road going in and just one lake to run over.
This is Pikangikum.
The access to the lake.
Testing the thickness of the ice, and seeing whether it is floating or if the water has receded. It has, and this makes it a little more iffy.
You have heard of the ice blowing out through speeding, well this is a blowout, you can see where the snow is lying in the groove left behind by the rise.
This is in Manitoba. The Eastern Access road which goes up the Eastern side of Lake Winnipeg. A really long winter road and this one is what they mean by following the lie of the land. The corners are incredible. Some are named and reknowned, like ZigZag Curve and Tulip Curve. No snaps of them as I was busy hanging on for dear life!!
You really can't afford to break down and leave it for long. If you are in the way then they will move it however they need to.
Looks OK here, doesn't it?
How about here then?
When beavers build in the summertime, we drive in the winter. This is a beaverdam in the middle of the road.
