Trading as the Diamond T Motor Car Co each of C.A. Tilts trucks carried the letter T for Tilt in a diamond shaped emblem. The first was a 1 1/2 tonner with a 4 cylinder Continental petrol engine with chain drive. Other early models included 2, 31/2 and 5 tonners. During World War 1 the company built some 1500 Model B 3 to 5 ton Liberty trucks. By 1921 4 speed gear boxes were available on all models with more than a 2 ton capacity and a fully enclosed cab on 3 point rubber mountings was introduced in 1923.
For 1926 the range was redesigned using 4 cylinder Hercules or Hinkley petrol engines, steel spoke wheels and electric lighting. Six cylinder engines with multi plate clutches appeared in 1928. Standard models were redesigned in 1933 and again in 1936 and developments included variable rate suspension systems and Super Service engines and the first cab over models appeared in 1937.

1936 Diamond T
With the start of the 2nd World War Diamond T started producing 4 ton trucks with a 6x6 all wheel drive capability as well as half-track vehicles. As civilian vehicle production was resumed in 1946 fewer models were offered and were based on earlier designs with Continental, Cummins or Hercules engines. New model were added in 1947 but by 1957 all small models were discontinued. The model 723C Cabover released in 1951 won a National Design Award for its heavy duty tilt cab which also appeared on certain Hendrickson and International models.
Bought by White Trucks in 1958 production was moved to the Lansing plant in Michigan where Diamond Tīs continued to be built albeit with White cabs.
