trucking in canada/america

im new to this site.
i have got my class 1 curently work for w.h.malcolm in scotland and im trying to find out as much as possible about driving in america and canada.
are there any truckers out there that could give me any info at all on how the work is over there and whats the best way for me to go about applying for work and hopefully getting permanent residency?
