The shortlists for the MAN Truck & Bus UK Ltd everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards (in association with Skills for Logistics and supported by Motor Transport) have been announced. The five individual awards feature women from across the transport industry: from general haulage and parcels to own account operators and 3PLs, and advisers to the transport industry (and those not in road transport) as well.

See the list below for the names of those who have made the shortlists. The winners will be announced on 12 June at a gala lunch at the Marriott in Grosvenor Square, London.

These inaugural awards aim to highlight the contributions women are making to the industry and to encourage more women to pursue a career in it. Maxine Benson, co-founder and director of everywoman, says: "These awards are proving that you don't have to be a man to succeed in transport and logistics. The proportion of women in the workforce has increased significantly over the last few decades, and inevitably the range of careers they are pursuing is diversifying.

"All the finalists are a fantastic inspiration to other women considering their career options, and I wish them all the best of luck on 12 June." Lucinda Ward, marketing and research director at Skills for Logistics, adds: "These awards have provided a much-needed boost to the image of the logistics industry. These inspirational women are great role models and their stories should encourage more people (not only

women) to consider a  areer in our exciting sector."
