So The Dog will try this blog thing again. I thought I had already done some of this but I can't find it now.

Anyway. You all know that I recently changed company over here. I am now on with Screaming.... sorry, Flying Eagle out of Niverville, MB.

I finally had enough of the nonsense at BFS. Now you mustn't misunderstand me here, I have great respect for the founder of BFS, and I made some excellent friends there. I saw so many amazing places and fulfilled many of my greatest ambitions. You all know this, so I need not tell you all of that old nonsense again.

I finally got upset enough with a few people there to quit and move on. Now, I feel, is the time to tell you, my online friends, why.

In October of last year, I was summoned to a meeting with the DRD department at BFS, namely Eric and Christine. This was in reference, I was told, to the renewal of my nomination from the Province of Manitoba. It had expired because of Ali's illness and the fact that she spent half the year in the UK, so I didn't dare to send the application off to CIC, it just would have gone horribly wrong if I had.

Now you need to bear in mind that I had already renewed my nomination once, and had done so without a problem. Then DRD got involved and waded in without realising that a) I am not nearly as stupid as they think, and b) that I was already in the process of reapplying anyway.

They told me, at this meeting, that MPNP were prepared to renew my nomination, but that there were conditions attached. These conditions included the requirement that I send the application for a new work permit immediately, and that I send my PR application off at the same time. Neither of these conditions were actually anything to do with MPNP, but Eric told me they were. In fact, they were Eric and Christines conditions, they were lies!

That's bad enough, but they told me that I would not be allowed to work under the applied status again, and that I would not be allowed to work if I didn't have my new WP in hand by the time my current one expired- again, a lie. I renewed my WP at the border on Jan 20th after deciding they could kiss my backside. They also told me I had to give them a cashiers cheque for $1250 to pay for my residency application on or before November 9th otherwise my nomination would not be renewed. That was less than 2 weeks away! I actually borrowed it from a friend and then BFS took another 3 WEEKS to actually send it off!!

Ready for the bad bit??

 OK then, here goes....

Eric and Christine told me I had to remove Alison, my wife of nearly 10 years, from my application and to send it for just myself and my son. They told me I had to get a letter from my wife giving me sole custody of Junior, and relenquishing all her parental rights. They said she would have to stay on a vistors visa, and leave the country every 6 months so she could come back for another 6 months.

This is what they told me.

Now, I suspect, you understand why I got a little upset- why there was a suggestion that there may have to be some serious repercussions.

Before anyone says that tis is not quite accurate, or before that big nosed pillock or his slapper friend in the office suggest that I am in any way wrong to go public about this, I have the copy of the minutes that they were foolish enough to furnish me with. All of this is in writing and will be in the hands of a certain lawyer before lunchtime tomorrow.

Now that that little bit is out of the way.......!

OK, so Flying Eagle.

A far smaller firm than BFS. It is a nice and personal place. It's the kind of firm where you can ask for favours and they are happy to try and help. My wife had some cash she needed to pay into my account. The boss was going into town so they did it for her without hesitation. It's that kind of place.

I have one of the VN Volvos. A masterful piece of kit, and they have got me a flatdeck to pull. They like drivers to work hard and they pay well in honesty. It may not sound so great but I have just been paid for 2 weeks work and have come out about $600 up on what I am used to. That is the mortgage paid on its own! I have had Junior riding with me this week. They didn't say a word about it!

Things will either work out there or they won't. We shall have to see. If they do then all is well, if not then I will not feel as crappy as I was made to feel at BFS.

I will let you know how things work out. If the first month is anything to go by, this is going to be good!!

I don't think they ever realised what they were getting involved with when they started employing some of us Brits who actually think and act for themselves.

If they had actually done their jobs and sorted our immigration properly, or at least had the decency to answer the phone, then we would never have taken it upon ourselves to sort things out for ourselves.
Now enough people know that things are possible and the company is losing out because of it.
Serves them right.
