Two would-be illegal immigrants tried to smuggle themselves into Britain in fridge freezers.

Police using heatseeking equipment found the Vietnamese just before a lorry was put on board a Eurotunnel train in Northern France.

The vehicle, which had come from Hungary, was taking the fridge freezers - which were all switched off - to Dublin.

A uk Borders Agency spokesman said: "It's important we stop illegal immigrants. That's why we have hundreds of British immigration officers at ports in France and Belgium."
