Truck drivers caught using a mobile phone, eating, map reading, or applying their make-up at the wheel, now face the threat of prison under tougher UK laws.

From the 18 August, any driver involved in a fatal road crash that was found to have been distracted at the wheel, could face up to 5 years in prison.
Prior to this, the maximum penalty was a £5000 (US$9,300) fine and penalty licence points.
