A dutch man was being questioned by gardaí in Co Wexford last night following the seizure of cannabis resin with an estimated street value of E10 million. The cannabis was detected by Customs and Excise sniffer dog Dillon, and an extensive search of the lorry uncovered the drug, which had been concealed in a false floor in the refrigerated trailer. Customs officers brought in cutting equipment yesterday to get to the drugs, which had been stowed away in steel compartments and then hidden beneath the false wooden floor. The 42-year-old driver of the vehicle was arrested under section two of the Drug Trafficking Act. He was held last night at Wexford Garda station. The haul was the largest seizure of cannabis at Rosslare. It follows an E8 million cannabis discovery at the harbour in April. The discovery brings the value of cannabis discovered this year by Dillon to over E18 million. Source Transport Online |
