The driver of this car had a lucky escape after a lorry crashed and shed its load of logs on top of him.

The man in the Renault Laguna estate was driving in the opposite direction to two trucks when they smashed into each other yesterday.

Fire crews attended the scene in Immingham, Lincolnshire, and were able to free the driver with no injuries.

Glenn Ramsden from the Humberside Fire & Rescue Service said: ‘It has been nothing short of a miracle that the car wasn’t totally crushed in the incident and also lucky that there were no pedestrians in the vicinity at the time of the collision.

‘Our crews were faced with a very challenging task which was made worse by the possibility of the logs slipping and crushing emergency service workers on scene.’
