No news of a buyer means it's the end for French haulier

A commercial court has confirmed the liquidation of French road haulier SLTR Rogès, which has debts estimated at €13m (US$17m).

Specialising in chilled and ambiant fmcg transport, the company, based close to Chambéry in the French Alps, employed 290 staff, including 220 drivers, and had a fleet of 170 trucks.

It entered administration in August 2007.

The court had ordered the winding-up of SLTR Rogès in June this year, but allowed it to continue in business until 28 November in the hope of attracting a buyer.

The court’s recent rejection of a bid from a Spanish firm appears to have sounded the death-knell for the family concern, which was set up in 1966.
