Regular users of the M25 desperate to stop between the 64 miles service-less stretch between South Mimms and Clacket Lane were given some welcome relief after Extra Motorway Services opened a new service station and truck park near Junction 2 on the M40

The site, which has 60 HGV parking spaces, as well as six dedicated HGV fuel pumps in Shell's largest UK filling station, is only five miles away from Junction 16 on the M25.

Operators Extra Motorway Services, who says the services has been 16years in development, describe the site as: "Our newest and Britain's largest new concept motorway service."

It is also developing a service station between Junction 9 and 10 on the M25 near Cobham, which is scheduled to open in early 2010.
